Bubbly Jyotika finds it easy in Chennai

When bubbly Jyotika visited "Music World" about last week, virtually she was mobbed by a big swell of autograph hunters. An onlooker says, "this experience might have come as pleasant shock to her." And he adds "Would you imagine that, in the self-same Spencer's shopping mall, when she had helped herself with a coke not a single fawning fan was spotted., just a year back".

Ever since her debut in "Poovellam Kettupar" Jyotika has become something of a box-office mantra. Whoever recites her name gets blessed..! Whoppers like "Vaali "Mugavari" and "Kushi" took her to dizzying heights in Kollywood. There is a constant buzz about her. She has bagged "Tenali" opposite Kamal Haasan and would appear in the Coke commercial opposite Aamir Khan soon

Nagma's little sister got her film entry in Priyadarshan's "Doli sajake Rakhna" a colossal flop film. She moved south then, taking cue from Nagma and Kushboo to make it big in Chennai. She did exactly that and went great guns from "Vaali" onwards.

Is being Naghma's sister a double-edged sword ? Responds she "The advantage is that every one knows you because you are a celebrity's sibling. The only disadvantage is that the expectations are sky-high. That's a problem. Also Naghma didi started off as a glamour doll and then moved on to roles of substance . People might expect too much from me as well" 

She continues, " I already have an image of the girl next door. Audiences in the South know that they won't just get to see a bimbette when they come to see a film of mine. But I'm still waiting to prove myself in the Mumbai movies".

Jyotika is thrilled with the supernova status,she is endowed with in Chennai. 'I can't believe my luck" she says "I am working with Kamal sir. Now, I am also doing a film with Rajni sir. What more could I ask for?"

She avers that she will be in the industry for the next five years . After that she would like to settle down'. She states, " If I meet the right man, I will give it all up even if I am at the peak of my career."

How does she manage to survive the competition down south.. Snap comes the reply from the chirpy girl " simple, I don't have any competition. And I will never compare myself with any of the senior stars. I want to stay in the audience's heart long after I have left the movies..
