Guess why Vidya Balan wanted to portray ‘M.S.Subbulakshmi’

By A.Kameshwari New Delhi, July 29 : Despite having a number of projects in her kitty this year, Vidya Balan is still hankering for that one role that has not come her way.

Vidya was supposed to play a lead in the biopic of the legendary carnatic vocalist M.S. Subbulakshmi, which for now has been slashed off the list. While the actress wanted to be on board of this film for many reasons, she revealed to ANI that she had her own reason too.

"I was supposed to do a biopic on the legendary M.S.Subbulakshmi and I was really looking forward to that, also because she wore beautiful sarees and jewellery.

Her diamond earrings are something that people are still in awe of. They look at her diamond earrings and pictures and say "Oh my god". But it's unfortunate that the film is not happening, but I hope this article spurs someone to write an interesting story for me and Kanchivaram sarees," the 'Te3n' actress said.

Vidya's fetish for jewellery is not unknown to her fans as she often has been seen wearing temple jewelleries with traditional sarees.

In fact, the actress claims it to be the best investment she has ever made and also encourages her fans to do so.

On the work front, Vidya is gearing up for the release of Srijit Mukherjee directorial 'Kahaani 2', working on 'Begum Jaan', and if reports are to be considered then the actress has been offered a biopic on veteran south actress Savitri.
