What is Ulcers?

Ulcers are an inflammation or erosions of the stomach or duodenal lining. They develop when digestive juices hydrochloric acid and the enzyme pepsin produced in the stomach, intestines, and digestive glands damage the lining of the stomach or duodenum. The digestive juices are crucial in the digestion of starch, fat, and proteins in food. An ulcer in the stomach is called gastric ulcer and in the duodenum is called a duodenal ulcer. The gastric and duodenum ulcers together are referred to as peptic ulcers.
 

Common Causes of Ulcers

  • Bacterial infection (Helicobacter pylori)
  • Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
  • Smoking, stress etc. increase susceptibility
  • Immune Abnormalities
  • Alcoholism
  • Hereditary

Boil 1 cup of fena greek leaves and eat with a sprinkle of salt twice a day.
