Samaresh Jung and Vivek Singh, disappointed and downcast after being relegated to a silver on the opening day of shooting, had lots to cheer about as they cracked the Commonwealth Games record in men's 10m Air Pistol Pairs and took the gold.
In the process, they beat the experienced English pair of Mick Gault and Nick Baxter and the Australian duo of Daniel Repacholi and David Moore.
For Jung, who is looking at eight medals - he is shooting in four events individually and in pairs - it was sweet compensation. Four years ago, he won the Men's 50m Air Pistol with Vivek, but lost Friday.
On Saturday, he picked up the gold in 10m Air Pistol.
It was the fourth gold medal for India in shooting and fifth overall. Samaresh Jung is participating in one more event Saturday.
