Four years after the blockbuster Khushi, S.J Suriyah is back to once again capture the Tamil Box office with his new release New. This Kollywood movie has basically been inspired by one of Hollywood evergreen classics Big, featuring academy award winner Tom Hanks.
S.J Suriyah not only directs this movie but also comes on to the silver screen playing Vichu the hero of the film. New, has received a extremely positive response from crowds all over TamilNadu, even though its bilingual (Naani) in Telugu was a flop.
New, is about a 8 year old Kid called Papu, who is transformed into a 28 year old adult. However despite this transformation Papu or Vichu is unable to transform mentally from a child to an adult.
Priya (Played by Simran) falls in love with this 28-year-old Kid, which creates further, twists and turns not only its plot but also the funny bone of the viewers.
Does
turn back to his normal 8-year old self and goes back to his caring mom or does he remain as a 28 year old for his love is for you to go and see.
Cinmatography : Young Guy Guhan has done an extremely fair job giving a good feel to the whole movie with his work. However he still has a long way to go.
Director : S.J Suriyah as usual leave his mark keeping a well relatively creative style and and well passed screen play.
Music : A.R. Rehman has not churned out his usual stock of music but has given a new perception, especially in the song kaalaiyil thinamum where the hero sings to his mother.
