PM Modi delivers inaugural address of Vachanamrita Satram retreat in Kerala

New Delhi, [India], Feb. 21 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday delivered the inaugural address of the seven-day Sri Ramakrishna Vachanamrita Satram retreat in Kerala's Tiruvalla via video conference.

He said he was humbled by the secularity of the nation. "Something which was originally written in Bengali is now being read and debated in Malayalam in Kerala.

I am humbled by how ideas are shared and adapted across our country. What could be a better example of one India, best India," said the Prime Minister. "This is a part of the oral tradition of India which has evolved constantly to adapt to changing circumstances keeping the eternal values intact," he added.

The seven day session is organised by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Tiruvalla. Speaking about the need of political and social reforms initiated by foreign nations, the Prime Minister said that change has always originated from within the Indian soil.

"A false perception was created about India that it needed social, political and economic reform initiated by outsiders.

India's soil is the soil from where change has always originated. Our civilisation stands tall, overcoming obstacle," said Prime Minister Modi..
