Dhanaulti

When one visits Mussoorie a detour can be made to Dhanaulti. It is on the Mussoorie -Tehri Road,  28 kms from Mussoorie. The whole journey is peaceful with pine and deodar trees up to Dhanaulti. Close to Dhanaulti  are fruit orchards.

Places of Interest:

Sarkunda Devi: This temple is 7 kms from Dhanaulti. One has to climb 2 kms to reach this temple. From this point one can view 400 kms of open land.

Hotels: Dhanaulti has tourist bungalows, forest guesthouses and hotels. To stay in the forest guest house one has to get prior permission  from the Forest Department.

Travel Plans:

By Air and Rail: The nearest airport and railway Station is Dehradun. The airport is 89 kms from Dhanaulti and the station,52 kms.from there  by taxi or bus. If you are coming to Dhanaulti from Rishikesh, Chamba is 93 kms away.

Light woollens in summer and heavy woollens in winter when the temperature can drop to 1degree C.
