Two new bus routes to ease life for Gurugram residents

Gurugram, March 2 : The Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) has decided to link Dwarka Expressway in Sector 106 with Huda City Centre metro station and Ambience Mall with Gurugram bus stand via two new bus routes within one month.

As per the GMCBL proposal, the 10-km route between Huda City Centre metro station and Dwarka Expressway will have 25 stops.

The new route between Ambience Mall and Gurugram bus stand will cover 15 km.

Due to land hurdles, construction of the Dwarka Expressway project has been delayed and the residents living in the upscale condominiums of the area struggle to reach public transport centres like railway stations, bus stands or metro stations.

"Over 50 residential societies are located on either side of the Dwarka Expressway but there is no public transport connecting the area with the nearest metro station, railway station or inter-state bus terminus," said Ashok Kumar Bansal, Joint Executive Officer at GMCBL.

"Preparations for two new bus routes have been finalised.

There is a possibility of adding more stops," Bansal said.

There is also a proposal to prepare a circular route connecting four metro stations -- Sikandarpur, MG road, IFFCO Chowk and Huda City Centre -- with the main bus stand and railway station of Gurugram, Bansal said.
