15th Mumbai International Film Festival on in Imphal

Imphal (Manipur) [India], Apr.2 : The nine-day 15th Mumbai International Film Festival is presently on at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) in Imphal.

The festival, which began on March 27, has been organised by the Films Division (FD), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

28 individuals from different background such as literature, music, theatre, and photography are participating in this workshop, which will end on April 4.

"Organizing such workshops together with film festivals brings a lot of opportunity and benefits to the young and interested people in the field of film-making," Joshi Joseph, the deputy director of Films Division, told ANI.

Joseph further said these workshops help the participants in executing their creative ideas. "The workshop would help the participants in translating their ideas into moving images and sounds on the screen.

And at the same time, it would also impart knowledge of film-scripting and narration," he added. As per reports, the participants of this workshop would be divided into two teams and each team will make one short film under the mentorship of the resource persons, Sumit Ghosh in editing, Manesh Madhavan in camera and Aruit Dutta in sound.

The first three days focused on ideation while the second three days will concentrate on shooting and the last three days on editing.

The participants after this workshop will have the capacity of developing his or her film. Renowned filmmaker Haobam Pabankumar Singh told ANI that this workshop would help the state in bringing about a film movement besides popularising regional films throughout the world.
