7th Sub-Junior Hockey C’ship: Assam trounce Gujarat 21-1

Bengaluru [India], May 2 : Assam Hockey produced a superlative performance as they thrashed Hockey Gujarat 21-1 in their Pool B clash at the 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) 'B' Division here on Tuesday.

Chris G Alphred (4', 7', 18', 19', 54', 63', 69') and Manish Sahani (9', 11', 27', 36', 64') scored sublime hat tricks to give their team a comfortable victory.

Hockey Mizoram beat Hockey Uttarakhand 8-3 in Pool A. Hmangaisanga scored a hat trick (17', 46', 52', 67') and Lalruatdika got a brace (12', 31') in Hockey Mizoram's come from behind comprehensive victory.

Hockey Madhya Pradesh beat Hockey Jammu (and) Kashmir 9-1 in Pool D. Hockey Jammu and Kashmir opened the scoring in the second minute via Gagagandeep Singh Sr. From there on though Hockey Madhya Pradesh rallied together and put in a spectacular performance for the win.

Shwetank James scored hat trick (4', 11', 38') for the winners. Hockey Rajasthan beat Kerala Hockey 10-1 with a splendid four goals from Vijendra Singh Rathore (3', 28', 37', 42').
