Air India launches Delhi-Madrid direct flight

Madrid [Spain] Dec. 2 : National carrier, Air India has started its Delhi-Madrid direct, non-stop, thrice-a-week flight from Thursday.

Pankaj Srivastava, Air India's Director (Commercial), while speaking at the inaugural launch of the flight said that the flight will take less than nine hours to travel the distance between Delhi and Madrid and that it would bring the two countries closer.

Air India is also planning to start its flights to the Scandinavian region, the launching destination of which will either be Copenhagen (Denmark) or Stockholm (Sweden).

The airline is also planning flights to Hong Kong from Mumbai. Including Madrid in the list of European cities where Air India flights have a reach, it also has flights to Birmingham, Vienna, Rome, Paris, London, Milan, Frankfurt and Moscow.

Air India is all set to revive its fortunes and is planning to expand its international presence by the launch of such international flights.
