Airline employee killed at Oklahoma City airport; suspect also found dead

New York [USA], Nov. 16 : The suspect involved in the murder of an Oklahoma City Airport staff yesterday, has been found dead in a parking garage.

Apparently, he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Captain Paco Balderrama of the Oklahoma City Police Department said the suspect was found dead with a gunshot wound in his head.

He was found in a truck in a parking garage and has not been positively identified. According to a CNN report, Captain Balderrama said, "It's too early in the investigation to figure out the exact motive, although the crime does appear to be premeditated." Balderrama said it appeared the suspect had waited in his truck for his victim, a Southwest Airlines employee named Michael Winchester at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, to either arrive or leave work.

Officials didn't disclose what role Winchester, 52, held at Southwest. A since-deleted LinkedIn page described Winchester, a former member of the popular Oklahoma Sooners football team, as a ramp supervisor.

It is unclear if the shooter and victim knew each other, but "we have some basic information who the suspect might be," Balderrama said.

Shots were fired near a parking lot, he said. According to the Sooners website, Mike Winchester was married and had three daughters and one son. His son, James Winchester, is a special teams player for the Kansas City chiefs..
