BSF dubs soldier video as an act of ‘indiscpline’

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir)[India], Jan. 10: Refuting the allegations levelled by soldier Tej Bahadur in a video message, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday accused the latter of indulging in indiscipline act and added that it is a sensitive matter for the forces.

"He indulged in action of indiscipline and he was to be court-martialed in 2010; considering his family he wasn't dismissed.

It is a sensitive matter for us, we will probe the it and take actions accordingly. Can't comment on the allegations as yet, enquiry has been ordered. If any lapses found then strict action will be taken," Inspector General, BSF, D.K. Upadhyay said while briefing media here. Contrary to charges made by Bahadur, the Upadhyay added that DIG level officers who have visited the camp in past, have never received any complaint regarding allegations levelled in the video.

"I can agree that taste of the food might not be very great but have never received any complaint from jawans regarding the same," he said.

Within hours of the Facebook video addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi going viral, in which BSF Jawan Tej Bahadur narrated the hardships he faced every day on the Line of Control (LoC), his superiors at Border Security Force (BSF) released a statement in which they accused the soldier of being a frequent discipline breaker.

In the video of Bahadur, he said that the jawans are deprived of adequate nutrition as the food is both substandard and insufficient by showing half-baked chapatis and inedible dal served in his lunch.

In fact, at times, the jawan said, they even have to sleep on an empty stomach..
