China ready for ‘action’ on N. Korea: Tillerson

Washington D.C. (U.S.), Apr. 10 : U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has affirmed that following recent talks between Beijing and Washington, China has stated that it is prepared to move.

Tillerson was reacting to the continued North Korean ballistic missile and nuclear weapons testing, the Sputnik reported.

Detailed by Tillerson on Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met at Trump's Florida resort last week to discuss, among other topics, ongoing tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

"President Xi clearly understands and I think agrees, that the situation has intensified and has reached a certain level of threat that action has to be taken," Tillerson clarified, according to The Guardian.

A full U.S. Navy strike group, including the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, has been diverted from Australia to the Western Pacific, in what many are calling increased vigilance on the part of the U.S., as North Korea continues to test newer, and more deadly, weapons in the region.
