CPN-UML not to endorse Nepal’s Constitution amendment proposal

Pokhara (Nepal), Aug. 13 : Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam on Saturday said that his party would not let the House endorse the Constitution amendment proposal as planned by the ruling parties.

Speaking at a conference here, he said the present delineation of the provinces would not change even one inch, reports the Himalayan Times.

He added that more than one-third of the lawmakers were with the opposition parties and so the proposal would not be passed.

Pointing out that the Communist Party of Nepal- Maoist Centre-led government was formed just on the basis of arithmetical equation and not on ideology, Gautam said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government will not be capable of making any progress towards the nation's development.

He also underlined his party chairman K.P. Sharma Oli's contribution and role during the Nepal-India border blockade last year and said that the recent government change was a 'conspiracy'.
