CRPF installs personal disinfecting chamber, manufactures masks

New Delhi, April 11 : The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has installed personal disinfecting tunnel outside its office in New Delhi for their personnel and people coming over there.

The Force has installed this chamber outside its R.K. Puram office.

Apart from the disinfecting chamber, the Force has also set up mask manufacturing unit in R.K.

Puram. Dr Yogendra Singh of the CRPF said that wherever they would be demand they would be sending these masks.

"We are in touch with other agencies and authorities. We are also in touch with medical fraternity in Delhi and other parts of the country."

He also said that in districts where the CRPF are present the Force has set up helpline numbers and and also corona centres.

Inspector General Raju Bhargava said, "We are ready for the war.

We are making all efforts to help the civil administration in whatever means they want."

The unit set up has a capacity to manufacture 1 lakh masks per day but currently the force is producing 50,000 masks.

It not only for the force but we are also supplying to other agencies.

In a fight against COVID-19, the CRPF Director General A.P.

Maheshwari, who is currently in quarantine, had increased the financial power of force offices and departments heads to procure medicines, sanitisers and personal protective gears.

It has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh.

The 1984-batch IPS officer had stated they have extended a helping hand to the state agencies in combating the menace of COVID-19 as best as possible.

"With our pan India presence, it is desirable that we offer our resources to the states in our respective areas of deployment to augment the resources of states who are the first responders wherever they feel any gaps/ deficiency," he said.

He pointed that the force is providing space and infrastructure for specialised teams, medicines and equipment to the states in fight with COVID-19.

"In close coordination with the state administration, we are study their needs and appraise our resources accordingly and then offer services to the states where ever needed," he said.

The force, of around 3.24 lakh personnel, is also providing transports and logistics support to the states, apart from providing administrative and manpower support.

They are also helping in creating awareness among public.

Apart from that, the force is also providing cooked food and ration items to the needy people.
