Fashion show organised in Surat in support of demonetization

Surat (Gujarat) [India], Dec. 3 : Giving some respite to the people who are bearing the brunt of demonetisation and to tickle your funny bones, a college in Surat held a peculiar fashion show, showing their support for the process.

Students were seen sporting stylish dresses with prints of banned old currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 denomination. The girls, walking on the ramp, were clad in old notes. Students also carried old currency in their hands, which they threw in the dustbin kept at the end of the ramp, symbolically representing the discard of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes.

The fashion show might seem strange, but at least it can be termed as a non-disruptive way of showing support towards something.

The government is getting a mixed response from across the nation about this decision of theirs. On the one hand, people are ready to bear the pain of standing in queues to extend their support to government, whereas on the other hand, people are resorting to violence showing their strong disagreement.

With opposition standing united against the demonetisation move announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government on September 8, and Parliament witnessing only ruckus, such support shown by the common man of the country is sure to encourage the government.
