Gerrard mulls England return as LA Galaxy contract nears end

London [England], Oct.2 : Former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has hinted that he will probably make a sensational return to England as a coach or lower league player.

Gerrard's contract with the LA Galaxy finishes in December, with formal talks over a new deal expected to begin once the club's fate in the MLS play-offs is determined.

The iconic midfielder, however, would be a free agent if he doesn't sign one in the near future. While the former England player refused to rule out a renewal with his current club, Gerrard insisted that he is open to swapping clubs once again at the age of 36.

"I still love coming into training, I still love competing, so if I can carry on and there are opportunities to stay here or go somewhere else for another six months or 12 months then I'll consider it," Gerrard, who had captained Liverpool for 12 years before his departure ,was quoted as saying by goal.com.

"But if nothing comes up I'll try and fly through the coaching badges and see what happens down that road," he added.

The veteran midfielder has made a total of 710 appearances over 17 seasons for Liverpool before ending his long association with the club in 2015 to join LA Galaxy.
