Govt. puts NDTV India ban on hold

New Delhi [India], Nov 7 : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I (and) B) on Monday decided to put on hold its order against the prominent Hindi channel NDTV-India.

The decision comes after the Supreme Court agreed to hear NDTV's appeal tomorrow against the ban. NDTV India has been ordered to go off air on November 9 (Wednesday) for broadcasting sensitive details of the terror attack that took place on the air force base in Pathankot in January this year.

However, earlier in the day, the prominent Hindi channel has challenged the one-day ban by the government.

This is the first ever such order against a TV channel over its coverage of a terror attack, the norms regarding which were notified in 2015.
