Happy over Stalin’s elevation; indifferences of Centre are biggest challenges: DMK

Chennai(Tamil Nadu) [India], Jan 5 : The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has expressed happiness over elevation of M.K.

Stalin as the party's working president, while asserting that the indifferences of the Central government are biggest challenges that they have to face.

"It gives us immense pleasure and joy that our leader MK Stalin has been elevated as working president.

He deserves it for the hard work and sacrifices he made for the party. We are very happy. Our party will work for the welfare of the people of the state and we will be on the fore front on every issue," DMK spokesperson C Saravanan told ANI.

He alleged that the Centre has never bothered about any state issue be it the fishermen issue, Cauvery dispute or jallikattu or drought or cylone.

"Probably the government don't have any electoral gains from this state that is why they are ignoring us," he added.

Apart from the Centre's perpetual hibernation, he said that misgovernance and non implementation of developmental schemes are the issues to be addressed on priority.

DMK leader M.K. Stalin on Wednesday was elected as the party's working president. The election of Stalin takes place amid rival All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( AIADMK) leaders' appeal to V.K.

Sasikala to take over as chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Senior AIA DMK leader M. Thambidurai had appealed to the the newly appointed party general secretary earlier this week to become the chief minister.
