Himachal officers at Centre asked to promote state’s interests

New Delhi, Jan 27 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday asked the state officials working on deputation with the central government to play a pro-active role in speeding up projects and proposals related to the state.

A meeting with the officials of the state cadre posted in central ministries was held here where Union Health Minister J.P.

Nadda was also present.

Nadda, who hails from the hill state, stressed upon coordination between officers working with the state and the central governments.

The Chief Minister said the officials were the backbone of the government and could play a significant role in preparing policies and programmes.

Thakur said it was a matter of pride for the state that so many officers were working in the government of India and representing the state.

He asked them to take care of the interests of the state and play an effective role in its growth.

Chief Secretary Vineet Chawdhary said every effort would be made to implement the government policies and that welfare of the people would be the priority.
