India, Kyrgyzstan ink six MoUs to boost ties

New Delhi [India], Dec. 20 : India and Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday signed six MoUs including in the fields of tourism, agriculture and food industry, youth development and broadcasting and exchange of audio-visual programmes.

The agreements were inked after the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visiting Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev in New Delhi.

The MoU on cooperation in the field of tourism provides for exchanging of views and holding of JWGs on expansion and strengthening of cooperation in the field of fourism.

This was signed by Ministry of Tourism of India and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Government of Kyrgyz Republic.

An agreement was also signed for cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry with the objective to facilitate sharing of experiences and expertise of each country.

In addition, the two sides signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of youth development aimed at improving international cooperation through broad interaction between the state authorities responsible for youth affairs at national, regional and other youth organizations.

An MoU was signed on cooperation between Foreign Service Institute, MEA, New Delhi and Diplomatic Academy of MOFA of Kyrgyz Republic, to exchange information on training programmes of diplomats.

This MoU shall promote contacts and exchange of students, faculty members and experts in the field of diplomacy.

Both sides also inked an MoU in the field of cooperation in youth exchange between NCC of India and Military Lyceum of Kyrgyz Republic.

This MoU is aimed at exchange of cadets/youths to participate in youth activities and to create an increased awareness and appreciation of socio-cultural and socio-economic realities prevailing in each other's countries among the cadets.

This MoU shall also pave the way for better understanding and cooperation with the Kyrgyz Government. An agreement was also signed on cooperation in the field of broadcasting and exchange of audiovisual programmes between Prasar Bharati of India and Public Broadcast Corporation of Kyrgyz Republic.
