International Publishers Congress begins in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 11 : The 32nd edition of the International Publishers Congress started here on Sunday with an aim to discuss the challenges faced by the publishing industry.

The Congress, organised by the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), will be held at the Taj Palace Hotel here till February 13 and will be attended by nearly 500 delegates.

This is the second time the event is being hosted by India after 1992.

The sessions will aim to discuss subjects like -- do awards and recognition help, social responsibility of publishers, copyright challenges and self-censorship, FIP said in a statement.

Discussions will also be held on online literature, bringing publishing markets together, book markets in India and educational publishing.
