New Delhi [India], Feb. 11 : A day after his appointment as the new Chief of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), IAS officer Ajay Tyagi revealed that he is looking forward to the appointment.
"It is a big responsibility for me and I look forward to handling it. When I go there, I will decide my priorities," said Tyagi. Tyagi was appointed as the new SEBI Chief on Friday. A 1984-batch IAS Officer from the Himachal Pradesh Cadre, Tyagi will be taking over from UK Sinha, whose tenure ends on March 1, 2017.
Prior to his appointment as the Chairman of SEBI, Tyagi served as an Additional Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, since 2014.
