‘Judwaa 2’ becomes third-highest opening weekend grosser of 2017

New Delhi [India], Oct. 2 : After having great Day 1 (and) Day 2 at the Box-Office, Varun Dhawan's 'Judwaa 2' continued its good run at box-office on Day 3 too, as the movie had the third highest opening weekend in 2017.

The movie earned Rs. 16.10 crore on its opening day. On Day 2, the movie earned Rs. 20.55 crore. But on Day 3, the flick went on to earn Rs. 22.60 crore at the box office. According to Box Office India, the weekend total of the movie stands at Rs. 59.25 crores, which is behind Salman Khan's 'Tubelight' (Rs. 61.53 crores) and Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' (Rs. 59.48 crore). Monday marks an advantage for Varun's movie as it is October 2 aka Gandhi Jayanti, which is a national holiday.

Directed by David Dhawan, 'Judwaa 2' also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu and sees Varun in a twin avatar as Raja and Prem.

The movie is a sequel to the 1997 comedy Judwaa which then starred Salman, Karisma Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu.

The 'Sultan' star has a cameo in the movie as he reprises his iconic twin characters, Raja and Prem..
