Nickelodeon introduced its first same-sex married couple this week

London, July 21 : Nickelodeon created a history this week by providing a better representation of LGBTQ characters. Nickelodeon's new cartoon series, 'The Loud House,' which began in May, became the channel's first show to feature a bi-racial married gay couple dropping off their son, regular character Clyde, at a friend's sleepover, reports the Independent. Clyde's parents, who appeared in an episode airing on 20 July, were voiced by Wayne Brady and Michael McDonald. Nickelodeon is no stranger to introducing well-represented LGBTQ themes into its shows; the channel in 2014 ended series 'The Legend of Korra' with a shot suggesting its female lead was to enter a relationship with another woman.
