PM Modi disconnected from reality of country: AAP

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], Nov. 12: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Saturday criticized the demonetisation process and said that Prime Narendra Modi is disconnected from the reality of the country.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi made fun of people that those who have black money are tense. He is disconnected from the reality of the country. He does not know how many people are facing problems and he tweeted on December 22 2013 that even the kids of the country know that black money is deposited in the banks of Switzerland.

I want ask him what has he done in order to bring the money back from Switzerland?" Singh told ANI. "People are dying because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Tughlaqi Farmaan'. Sanjeev Kamboj the legal cell convener of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) had new currency notes before it arrived.

All crony capitalists got this information before us," he added. Earlier, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also acknowledged that people are getting inconvenienced to replacing currency notes and said that currency replacement of this magnitude would take time.

The government, Jaitley said, has directed bank officials to help senior citizens in the smooth exchange of notes.

The finance minister appealed to the business community to avoid using cash and start using digital payment gateways.

Jaitley rejected allegations that the information with regard to demonetization was leaked two months prior to the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

There are approximately two lakh ATMs across the country. Many ATMs, which was reopened after the Prime Minister Modi's demonetization decision, were forced to shut down after it ran out of cash.
