Poland supports India’s bid for NSG membership, UNSC seat: VP Ansari

Warsaw [Poland], April 27 : Vice President Hamid Ansari has said that Poland supports India's bid for membership in Nuclear Suppliers Group and also a permanent membership in expanded United Nations Security Council.

"Happy for Poland's support to India's claim for permanent membership of expanded UN security council," Ansari said while addressing the media after delegation level talks with the Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo.

Vice President appreciated Poland on its support to make India a member of Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).

"I appreciate support extended by Poland to India's membership of MTCR and membership of NSG," he said.

He further said that Poland agrees with India on early adoption of Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) at the UN.

Vice President Ansari said that Indian festivals will be celebrated in various cities of Poland as a part of cultural cooperation Indian festivals.

Earlier, India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Poland in the field of agriculture. The MoU was signed by Minister of State of Small Industries Giriraj Singh and Polish Agriculture Minister Krzysztof Jurgiel.
