Ram Museum has no links with UP polls: Sanjeev Baliyan

New Delhi [India], Oct. 18 : Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Baliyan on Tuesday said that he has no clue as to why is the Samajwadi Party politicising the Ram Museum issue.

Asserting that the Ram Museum has nothing to do with the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Baliyan said that the decision to construct the Museum was taken much earlier.

"The Ram Museum issue has nothing to do with the elections. We started working on it after Mahesh Sharma ji took over as the Tourism Minister. I don't know why the Samajwadi Party has so much problems with all this," said Baliyan. According to reports, the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre is planning to build a museum dedicated to Lord Rama in Ayodhya.

The Union Ministry of Culture is also learnt to have increased the museum grant from Rs. 175 crore to Rs. 225 crore so that a state of the art museum can come up in the ancient town celebrated in Hindu epics as the seat of Lord Rama's birthplace and kingdom.
