Rebellious behaviour nearly cost Robert Pattinson his ‘Twilight’ role

New York [USA], May 31 : Robert Panttinson has revealed that he nearly got booted off the 'Twilight' series that made him famous.

In an interview with the New York Times, the 31-year-old actor revealed that his rebellious behaviour almost cost him the role of sullen vampire Edward Cullen and his agent actually had to fly in to straighten him out.

Pattinson said his time in the saga was "an amazing luxury." He said, "It was "amazing luck, as well, to just have fallen into it with the group of people I worked with on it," adding that he didn't have to kiss anybody's rear end the entire time.

The first 'Twilight' movie premiered in 2008 when he was just 22 years old and before that, he played Cedric Diggory in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.' "I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sellout," Pattinson said, is "if you've done five movies in a series, you've had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character.".
