‘Saturday Night Live’ to cast three new members

Washington D.C. [USA], Sept. 13 : American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show, 'Saturday Night Live', will see Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor as its new cast members in its October 1 season premiere.

"Saturday Night Live", created by Lorne Michaels, has added three new cast members for Season 42: Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor as featured players, reports Variety magazine.

Respective profiles of the three new casts show good years of experience prior to joining the variety show.

Mikey Day, who is a 36-year-old American actor and comedian, had been reportedly working with "SNL" since Season 39 serving as a co-head writer and cast member on shows like "Maya (and) Marty", "Robot Chicken," "Mad" and "Kath and Kim." Alex Moffat is reported to have worked as regular performer at 'iO Chicago' and 'The Annoyance Theatre' before joining 'Saturday Night Live.' Mellisa Villasenor, an impressionist and stand-up comedian, had lent her voice to 'Adventure Time,' 'Mas Mejor', 'Family Guy' and 'TripTank,' Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Jane Curtin, John Belushi, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase among others have so far featured on "Saturday Night Live", which is on air for more than three decades.
