New Delhi, Nov 9 : Ahead of the Supreme Court pronouncing verdict in the Ayodhya title suit, Ashwini Upadhyay, lawyer for the Shia Waqf Board, on Saturday maintained that according to law, the land should be given to the Shias to erect a "grand construct in memory of imam-e-Hind - Lord Ram".
"The mosque was constructed by a Shia.
Hence the law says, it should be given to Shias so that they can erect a grand construct in memory of imam-e-Hind - Lord Ram," he said.
Imam-e-Hind is a title given to Lord Ram by poet Sir Muhammad Iqbal, widely known as Allama Iqbal.
