Tiger Woods blames ‘prescriptions’ for DUI arrest

Washington D.C. [USA], May 30 : Tiger Woods has finally broken his silence on getting arrested for Driving under the influence (DUI) in Florida.

According to E! Online, the professional golfer defended himself by saying that alcohol was not involved in the incident and he had "an an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications." The 41-year-old, said, "I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.

I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly." Woods also apologized to his family, friends and the fans and ensured everyone that such incident will never happen again.

"I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too. I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again," he shared. Adding, "I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office for their professionalism." Earlier it was reported, Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Florida's Jupiter Island on Monday.

But he was released on his own recognizance with no bond a few hours later, local media reports said.
