Tony Awards 2017: ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ and other winners

New York [U.S.A.], June 12 : 'Dear Evan Hansen,' a story that tells of loss, lies and loneliness in a high school community, on Sunday won the major awards at the Tony Awards 2017.

Though an unusual choice for hosting a song-and-dance show, Kevin Spacey set aside his dramatic persona and affectionately mocked the most-admired new musicals on Broadway as he opened the awards.

The award show at Radio City Music Hall here was full of music with numbers from the four shows nominated for best new musical - 'Come From Away,' 'Dear Evan Hansen,' 'Groundhog Day' and 'Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812'.

The extravaganza also had songs from the three nominated for best musical revival - 'Falsettos,' 'Hello, Dolly!' and 'Miss Saigon.' Here's a look at who won at the 71st Tony Awards - Best performance by an actress in a featured role in a musical: Kate Baldwin, Hello, Dolly! Stephanie J.
