TRS MP Kavitha bats for National Women’s Parliament

Amravati (Telangana) [India], Feb. 11 : Stressing on the hope that young girls and women will get inspired by the unique concept of the three-day National Women's Parliament (NWP), Nizamabad MP K.

Kavitha has hailed the Andhra Pradesh Government for holding the NWP conclave. "The women's parliament held in Amravati, Andhra Pradesh today is a unique experiment done in our country.

I am happy to be here. There are a lot of issues that will be discussed in the next three days. I really hope that young girls will be inspired by these discussions and will participate in politics of our country in future," she said on Friday.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP hoped the NWP will go a long way in helping women in struggles for equal rights and equal share in polity, jobs and economic benefits being waged by women.

At the conclave, Kavitha spoke at length about women empowerment and adaptability of the mentor concept in political arena.

The NWP focuses on under-representation of women in elected bodies, decision making levels and obstacles being faced by them in different spheres.

The conclave is being hailed as a big step to motivate the political leadership to pass the long-pending Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha.
