Trump says his supporters were ‘violent’ and ‘vicious’ during presidential campaign

Orlando [United States], Dec. 17 : U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has admitted that said his supporters were violent and vicious during the 2016 presidential campaign.

He was speaking to his supporters during a "Thank You" rally in Florida on Friday. "You people were vicious, violent, screaming, 'Where's the wall? We want the wall!' Screaming, 'Prison! Prison! Lock her up!' I mean you are going crazy.

I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?" CNN quoted Trump, as saying.

"But now, you're mellow and you're cool and you're not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?" he added.

Trump had claimed before the election that his rallies were the safest place on Earth and called them a "love fest." Trump supporters during the 2016 presidential campaign had occasionally assaulted protesters at rallies across the country and many supporters were also charged with assault following such incidents.

One Trump supporter shouted saying that Hillary Clinton should be water boarded. An empty water bottle was thrown by a Trump supporter at a reporter. Trump had repeatedly described the reporters as very dishonest. He had suggested that without any evidence media was distorting exit polls on Election Day..
