Will work as per law: Babul Supriyo on arrest warrant issued against him

New Delhi [India], Mar. 10 : Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo on Friday said that he will work as per law, referring to the arrest warrant issued against him on a complaint filed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Mahua Moitra.

"I have not received any summon till now. But, I came to know that a chargesheet has been filed and an arrest warrant has been issued saying I am absconding.

But, as a matter of fact, I have been to Kolkata a number of times. Let's see what will happen next. I will work as per law," Supriyo told ANI. Earlier this day, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Alipore issued an arrest warrant Supriyo on a complaint filed by Moitra alleging he insulted her modesty during a live TV show.

Supriyo said that Moitra was making useless allegations him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a TV show and he just asked her if she was high on Mahua (an alcoholic drink).

"A letter was sent to her from the Parliament saying that if frivolous cases will be discussed in a TV debate show, then everyday some or the other cases of modesty of women will be lodged," Supriyo added.

Moitra had lodged a complaint against Supriyo on January 4..
