4.5 million MTNL customers in Mumbai can now go cashless with Freecharge

New Delhi [India], Nov 2 : India's fastest growing digital payments platform Freecharge has partnered with MTNL to provide a swift and secure way to make cashless payments for MTNL bills in Mumbai.

MTNL is one of the largest providers of landline and broadband services in Mumbai. Freecharge will also offer features like Auto-enroll and Bill reminders so that MTNL customers don't have to worry about forgetting bill due dates and incurring late fee charges on delayed payments.

The 10-second payment of utility bills and reminders for recurring payments is part of Freecharge's aim to help customer transactions fast, secure and convenient.

"We are pleased to partner with MTNL, one of the largest providers of landline and broadband services in Mumbai.

We are the first and only wallet provider to tie-up with MTNL and through this partnership, Freecharge can potentially serve the 4.5 million registered users of MTNL in Mumbai.

Through this association, we aim to help MTNL streamline its payment processes and move away from managing cash and truly go digital," said CEO Freecharge, GovindRajan.

Customers can also use the Freecharge wallet for numerous other services including payment of telephone and DTH bills, recharges and for shopping at various brand outlets and online platforms.

Customers can also use Freecharge's Chat-n-Pay feature to seamlessly chat and pay in a secure way with friends and family in less than five seconds.

This interface also serves to connect merchants and consumers to chat, shop and make Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payments.
