5th Agartala Dog Show, a ‘barking’ success

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Apr. 6 : The 5th Agartala Dog Show organised by Tripura Veterinary Doctor's Association, was held at the Vivekananda stadium on Wednesday.

"The main idea behind hosting this show is to encourage people to breed dogs and get to know more about the ways to improve their nutrition, keep them healthy by vaccinating and other necessary awareness.

We also want to encourage others so that they adopt a dog," said Dr. Prabhad Das, President of the organising committee. The stadium was filled with over a hundred German Shepherds, Labradors, Rottweilers, Dalmatian and Spitz from across the country.

Thousands of dog lovers gathered there to witness the show, while others came with their pets. The venue had a rink for the animal to run as each breed had separate contests to be judged. The animals were divided into different classes such as puppy, open dogs category and also on gender. Monalisa Dasgupta, a winner participant, said, "I for the first time came here with my Dalmatian dog and we are enjoying it.

I think dogs can be anyone's best friend." Medals were distributed among the winners. More than 60 dogs of twelve breeds took part in the show, whose major sponsor was Pawsome..
