Three killed, 100 injured after transit train crashes in U.S.

New Jersey [U.S.], Sept. 29 : At least three persons and 100 others got injured after a transit train crashed in New Jersey, U.S.

A commuter train barreled into the terminal of the New Jersey Transit Hoboken station, reports New York Daily News.

The cause of the crash was not immediately determined. The crash comes just weeks after an New Jersey Transit bus driver and one passenger died in an early morning crash with another commuter bus in Newark.

New Jersey Transit has been planning to install a speedy safety system called Positive Train Control, but it is not expected until December 2018.

The software, which would monitor speeds of NJ Transit trains, is still being developed, according to a federal transit report published this month.
