CM Jayalalithaa on respiratory support, passive physiotherapy, says Apollo Hospital

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Oct.10 : Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa is constantly being monitored by Intensivists and consultants as necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are being given to her, said the Apollo Hospital management in its official statement.

"The Honourable Chief Minister continues to be under treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. The Honourable Chief Minister is being constantly monitored by the Intensivists and the other Consultants in the Expert Panel," the statement read.

"Professor Dr.G.Khilnani, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, visited again on October 9 an October 10 and examined her.

He had discussions with the Expert Panel in the Apollo Hospitals and concurred with the present line of treatment being given to the Chief Minister," it added.

Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, BJP state president Tamilisai Sounderarajan, DMK leader Stalin have so far paid visits to the Chief Minister.
