Chennaiyin FC’s Materazzi handed one-match ISL ban

Chennai [India], Nov.2 : Chennaiyin FC head coach Marco Materazzi on Wednesday received a suspension for one match of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) for misconduct during his side's clash against Kerala Blasters last week.

The Italian coach got involved in a scuffle involving Chennaiyin's Manuele Blasi and Kerala Blasters's Kervens Belfort after the completion of the goalless match.

Materazzi was found guilty of 'misconduct against opponents or persons other than match officials' under AIFF Disciplinary Committee Article 49 C for his unsporting behaviour towards a team official of the opponent team.

As a result, Materazzi will miss his side's next match against Mumbai City FC here at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.
