Mumbai to witness first ever Norwegian Business Climate Survey launch

Mumbai [India], Nov. 17 : The Norwegian Business Association India (NBAI) (and) Royal Norwegian Consulate General, Mumbai in collaboration with the Commercial section of Royal Norwegian Embassy, Delhi (INNOVATION NORWAY) recently undertook a Business Climate survey to assess the current and near future business climate for Norwegian companies with in-depth focus and study of the Maritime sector.

The results of the survey will be launched on November 23rd, at JW Marriot, Sahar in Mumbai in presence of Subhash Desai, States Industries Minister, who will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

He will be accompanied by Consul General of Norway- Torbjorn Holthe, (and) NBAI Chairman, Richard Chapman.

This will be followed by a panel discussion on 'Opportunities (and) challenges in the India Business climate-with a Norwegian Perspective' with panelists representing large Norwegian businesses in India to discuss and address the prevailing economic conditions.

With a majority of Norwegian companies in India established in the maritime sector, the Norwegian Business Association India and Innovation Norway have under taken this initiative to get an in-depth understanding of the Indian maritime sector and to get a more focused evaluation of the business climate for Norwegian maritime companies in India.

Norwegian companies have their key presence in Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, and Karnataka and the survey provides an insight into the opportunities and challenges in each state.

Important sectors for Norway in India are mainly Maritime, Oil and Gas, Information technology, Clean Tech, Defence, Energy, Marine, and Seafood.

BCS report will capture the inputs from 90 plus Norwegian companies established in India for a general overview with a response rate of 81 percent.

Biggest Norwegian Companies Present in India are mainly Telenor, Statkraft, DNB, Aker Solutions, Jotun, MTR FOODS, Evry India, Kongsberg, DNV GL and many more.

The largest Indian companies in Norway are HLC Technologies, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Teck Mahindra's IT branch.
