Netflix to film ‘The Little Prince’

London, Aug. 10 : In a first of its kind, Netflix has announced a charming new take on 'The Little Prince'. The animated feature-length film is based on French author Antoine de Saint-Exupery's timeless novel of 1943.

The movie is a clever combination of modern, Pixar-style CG (computer generated) animation with quaint slow-motion to reflect the deep difference between the cold adult world and the wonder of childhood, reports The Independent.

It will come with a central message, "it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." The project will be helmed by Mark Osborne, who first read the novel in college days.

The novel was gifted to him by his beloved wife, who was then his girlfriend. He has plans to introducing us to The Little Prince's world through the eyes of a child while preserving the beauty of Saint-Exupery's evocative original.
