AAP, Congress creating ‘drama’ over EVM to pacify their cadres: BJP

New Delhi[India], Apr. 1 : Hitting out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh for alleging EVM tempering during the elections, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Meenakshi Lekhi on Saturday said they are creating drama to make their cadre happy.

"These ministers belong to the time when booth capturing used to take place. They are involved in this drama just to make their cadre happy. Their failure is fixed that is why this drama is going on," Lekhi told media here. She further lashed out at the Congress saying that it is an old tactic of the grand old party to manipulate and deceive everyone.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal met Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi to discuss the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) tampering issue.

"We have been saying that the EVMs were tempered. Are the elections in this nation being conducted fairly? Are people casting their votes or machines itself deciding it?" Kejriwal said addressing media after meeting Election Commission.

He further alleged that the software in the machines was changed, so that when the voters press any button it will only lead to BJP.

Echoing Kejriwal, Digvijaya said that he does not trust EVMs and called for using ballot paper for elections.

"When the whole world is using ballot paper for elections, then what objection should we have. I don't trust EVMs from the very beginning," Digvijaya said..
