Aussie pacer Daniel Worrall to make ODI debut against Ireland

Johannesburg [South Africa], Sept.26 : Australia will cap a new fast bowler Daniel Worrall when they take on Ireland in one-off ODI match here at the Willowmoore Park on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old got this opportunity after Mitchell Starc was rested from the tour to South Africa. While confirming the news, skipper Steve Smith said Worrall had worked really hard to make it into the national squad and now he is looking forward to the pacer's performance.

"I think he's got a lot stronger and he's bowling with good pace and good shape. This series will be a good challenge for him, with Ireland tomorrow and then South Africa in this series in their conditions," Smith was quoted as saying by Sport24.

Worrall, along with Scott Boland, John Hastings and Mitchell Marsh, will make the pace attack while spinner Adam Zampa has also been named in the Playing XI against Ireland.

After lone match against Ireland, the world champions will head into five-match ODI series against South Africa before playing three Tests against AB de Villiers' side.

The Australia squad against Ireland is as follows: Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Steve Smith (captain),George Bailey, Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, John Hastings, Adam Zampa, Daniel Worrall, Scott Boland.
