Azam Khan avoids commenting on I.P. Singh’s derogatory slur

Lucknow, Aug.3 : Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan on Wednesday avoided commenting on BJP leader I.P.

Singh's derogatory remark on his family and slammed those politicising the Bulandshahr gang-rape incident while demanding stringent action against the perpetrators.

"If these people want to draw political mileage due to such a heinous incident then it is very cheap. The CM has taken a strict action. The punishment in this case should be such that it scares the people from indulging in such indecent acts," Khan told ANI.

"We have seen a series of similar crimes, we want to know the truth behind it," he added. Khan had earlier stirred a controversy by hinting at a political conspiracy behind the gang-rape of the mother-daughter duo in Bulandshahr.

Khan said that a desperate opposition could stoop to any level to defame and disgrace the government since the state elections are approaching.

In a shocking response, IP Singh on Wednesday tweeted, "Miyan Azam Khan ki beti aut bibi se gang rape ho jaaye tab Azam ki aankh khulegi..Bulunsher hightway par 12 saal ki beeti aur maa ke gangrape par ochi baat kahi (Azam Khan's eyes will open only when his wife and daughter gets raped).".
