Dhaka [Bangladesh], Nov. 13 : The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will be holding a protest across the country on Monday against the denial of permission to hold a rally in Dhaka today.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, holding a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office, announced the decision to hold a protest.
"The government did not give the permission for holding a rally as the 'autocratic' government fears BNP," the Daily Star quoted Alamgir as saying.
The BNP had recently sought permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day, however, the DMP did not respond to its request.
