Canadian amongst seven dead in London terror attack

Ottawa [Canada], June 5 : A Canadian was amongst those killed in a terror attack on London Bridge and nearby areas in which seven persons were killed and many others injured.

"Canada strongly condemns the senseless attack that took place last night in London, United Kingdom, which killed and injured many innocent people," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau later said in a statement.

Confirming the death of a Canadian in last night's terror attack in London, Trudeau said, "I am heartbroken that a Canadian is among those killed." "We grieve with the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones, and wish all those injured a speedy and full recovery," he said.

Trudeau said that such hateful acts would not deter them and would only strengthen their resolve against terrorism.

He said Canada would continue to work together with the United Kingdom and all its allies to fight terrorism and bring perpetrators to justice.

"Londoners and people across the United Kingdom have always displayed strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

We recently witnessed this after the attacks in Manchester and in the Westminster area of London. This time will be no different," he said. "The Government of Canada will not comment further at this time out of respect for the family," he added.
