Cong wants Uma’s ouster, BJP says law will take its own course in Babri

New Delhi [India] Apr 20 : As the Congress Party on Thursday mounted pressure on the government to sack Union Minister Uma Bharti post the Supreme Court's direction on Babri Masjid demolition case, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the law will take its own course.

Union Minister for Law and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that Babri Masjid case is not new and the law will take its own course.

He, however, added that the BJP has full faith in the veterans including Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who will face criminal conspiracy charges in this case.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari termed the BJP as a double-faced party and demanded the immediate resignation of Uma Bharti.

"The BJP is a double faced party which says something and does something," said Tiwari. Commenting on Bharti's assertion that she can go to go to jail for Lord Ram, Tiwari first asked Uma to resign from the Union Cabinet in the name of Ram.

"It is a fact that a central agency like CBI can't investigate a union minister transparently. Keeping this in mind, Uma Bharti should first resign from union cabinet in the name of Ram," demanded Tiwari.

He said she should show some morality and resign immediately from the Cabinet. The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed to reinitiate criminal conspiracy charge against BJP veterans Advani, Joshi and Bharti, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Katiyar and Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh besides others.
